Judith Sikala

Judith Sikala is a Zimbabwean scholar and Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Centre for Development Support Studies, within the Higher Education and Human Development Research Program at the University of the Free State, South Africa. She is also a contract lecturer within the Industrial Psychology department at the same university. She completed her PhD in 2025, having commenced her doctoral studies in 2022, and began her postdoctoral fellowship in June 2025 under the same department. She holds a PhD in Development Studies, a Master of Education in Educational Management, a Bachelor of Education in Educational Management and Leadership, and a Diploma in Education. Sikala’s research operates at the intersection of higher education policy, systemic innovation, and human development in the Global South. Grounded in the Human Development and Capability Approach, Sikala’s work critically examines how institutional and policy transformation can reorient technology, industrialisation, and governance toward social justice and sustainable futures.
