CGHE Blog
Contribute to the CGHE Blog
The CGHE Blog provides a platform for timely discussion, debate, and reflection on the future of global higher education in an unequal world. We welcome contributions from researchers, policymakers, practitioners and students. Our blog aims to foster dialogue between research and policy, and to foreground new perspectives on the challenges facing universities.
How to submit an idea
If you have an idea for a blog post, please contact the CGHE editorial team with a short (100-200 word) outline of your proposed contribution. We can then discuss whether it is suitable for the CGHE Blog and help you develop.
When preparing your proposal, please consider:
- What is the main argument or message of your piece?
- What makes the topic timely or important?
- How does it connect to current debates, research, or policy discussions in higher education?
- Who is the intended audience?
- What evidence, experience, or examples will inform your contribution?
What we publish
We welcome a range of contributions, including:
- Commentary on current developments – Short reflections on breaking news, policy changes, sector developments, and emerging challenges in higher education.
- Reflections on your research – Accessible discussions of recently published reports, articles, projects, and findings, highlighting their wider relevance.
- Responses and debates – Commentary responding to research, publications, reports, or policy developments from other scholars, organisations, and policymakers.
- International perspectives – Insights from researchers and collaborators working across different higher education systems and contexts.
- Emerging ideas and questions- Early-stage thinking, new debates, and developing research questions that may not yet be ready for formal publication.
- Reflections from events and collaborations – Perspectives from conferences, workshops, seminars, research visits, and knowledge exchange activities.
Editorial process
All submissions are reviewed by the CGHE editorial team. We work collaboratively with contributors to develop posts that are clear, engaging, and accessible to a broad audience. The editorial process may involve suggestions on structure, argument, style, and presentation. The final decision on publication rests with the CGHE editorial team.
