Janja Komljenovic is a Lecturer in Higher Education at Lancaster University and works on CGHE’s local higher education engagement research programme.
Janja’s research interests include education governance, higher education industry and political economy of markets. She is working on integrating macro/meso and micro levels of processes and analysis.
She was previously a Marie Curie Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Bristol, where she focused especially on the diversity and complexity of markets in and around universities, including the variety of actors that have entered the sector, their strategies, ways of working, and consequences for higher education and societies at large.
She has worked in higher education policy since 2003 at institutional and national level in Slovenia, and in the Bologna Process in Europe. She is particularly active in quality assurance; acting as an evaluator of quality assurance agencies for ENQA and evaluator of universities for national agencies.
