New book: internationalisation in Vietnamese higher education
A new book by edited by Professor Simon Marginson and Dr Ly Thi Tran investigates internationalisation in Vietnamese higher education.
The book is the first in-depth study of this topic. Based on empirical research, theoretical knowledge and the experiences of researchers from Vietnam and overseas, it highlights the key drivers and dimensions of internationalising Vietnamese higher education.
The authors look at government policy, quality assurance and benchmarking strategies, curriculum, the impact of international organisations on higher education, international student mobility, transnational education, employability, brain drain and brain gain and brain circulation. They also discuss tensions in Vietnam related to the appropriation of ‘Western’ internationalisation practice and models.
Internationalisation in Vietnamese Higher Education is published by Springer.
