Joel Navam

Joel Navam is a dedicated higher education professional with over a decade of experience in student success, peer mentoring, and first-year programming at public and private universities in the United States. In his current role as Scholar Advisor at Wallin Education Partners, he fosters holistic support for a caseload of 100+ students navigating the challenges and opportunities of higher education. Joel completed his Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. His original research culminated in the Relational Advising for Student Agency (RASA) model—a theoretical framework for building strong relationships that empower students to make strategic decisions. Joel is passionate about bridging the gap between theory and practice in higher education, leveraging qualitative research to inform best practices that positively impact university students. In his free time, Joel enjoys swimming in cold water, reading memoirs, and visiting a new country.
