Jan McArthur is a Co-Investigator on CGHE’s local higher education engagement research programme.
Jan is a Lecturer in the Department of Educational Research at Lancaster University. Her research interests span two themes: education and social justice, and the nature of higher education. Her recent work has looked at the nature of assessment and feedback the role of failure in learning including the relationship between conceptions of failure and social justice.
She is currently working on a book titled Assessment for social justice, which considers the role of assessment in realising the social justice aspirations of higher education.
